Genelle Kiser, 74, of Richmond, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City.

Genelle was born on May 20, 1949, in Leonard, the daughter of Tony and Leola Belle (Clark) Bichsel. She was united in marriage to Ernest William Kiser, Jr. of Richmond on September 2, 1966; he survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: daughter, Tami (Marty) Johnson of Lee's Summit; son, Tim (Lea) Kiser of Richmond; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Dale W. Long of Warsaw; she is survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bob Bichsel, and sister, Betty Jolene Long.

Genelle was raised and educated in the area of her birth and graduated from North Shelby High School in Shelbyville. She started working in the tax industry in 1982. In 1992, she founded Richmond Income Tax, which she owned and operated for 32 years. Genelle was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Richmond, the Altar Society, and Beta Sigma Phi, Chapter Preceptor Gamma Theta. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, canning, cooking, sewing, camping, and square dancing. Genelle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Richmond. Interment will be in Richmond Memory Gardens.
