Buffalo Courier Express, Saturday, June 27, 1959, p.10. George E. Klein. The Town of Amherst's oldest resident, George E. Klein, of 23 Howard Ave., Williamsville, died yesterday in Kenmore Mercy Hospital—four days after his 103d birthday.
Mr. Klein, who lived with his daughter, Mrs. Leo G. Oswald, broke his hip in a fall at home on his birthday Monday.
He was born on the family farm on Klein Rd., Amherst, and operated the farm until his retirement in 1926. Mr. Klein worked briefly as a harness-maker in Buffalo.
Mr. Klein was a member of SS Peter & Paul Church in Williamsville. Besides his daughter, he is survived by a son, Ralph V. of Batavia; 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
A Solemn High Mass of Requiem will be sung at 9:30 Monday morning in SS Peter & Paul Church, following prayers in the Beach-Tuyn Funeral Home, 5541 Main St. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Swormville.
